25 Years Later

For the upcoming campaign, 25 years later....

• Seppun Izu and Otomo Toju are heads of their families. 
• Matsu Nasuko becomes the Lion Clan Champion. Lion werewolves continue to be a threat in Lion Lands. 
• The Ivory Kingdoms are now the Ruined Kingdoms, and the small amount of survivors must rebuild.
• Peasant uprisings and riots, led mostly by the Wolf Pack (now called the Wolf Clan) threaten the stability of Rokugan. News that the Samurai descended, not from fallen Kami, but from sorcerers who summoned and channeled the Kami through magicite have created grave doubts about the celestial order.
• The Crab are now a Minor Clan in terms of holdings. Many resources went into repairing the Carpenter wall, and all holdings INSIDE the shadowlands are destroyed. They barely keep the shadowlands at bay now. 
  
• The Crane have their own void magic Dojo, led by Dave's old character, who learned void magic from the spirits of the Kitsu. They have also joined an alliance with the Kitsune, and they focus on spells that allow them to commune with the various spirit realms. 
• The Lion and Mantis war was short and did not create severe issue for either side. However the Mantis have lost much in the way of income with the loss of the Ivory Kingdoms to trade with. The Lion's finances were hurt when, during the war, large populations of Zikojin (Copper goblins) escaped, and they no longer had the slave labor they once had. 
• The Yogo Family no longer exists. The other Scorpion families have divided up the land and taken on many of the former Yogo clansmen. Many of their buildings were destroyed while they were possessed by the Raksasha. 
• The Tiger Clan has holdings in some former Scorpion Lands. Led by Oroko Yoshi, they are no longer followers of the Raksasha.
• The Rin family has not been made Samurai, but have been granted official family status by the Emperor. It occupies a unique position as a Minor Clan but without samurai status. Giovanni Braesco was granted Rokugani Citizenship (despite being Marenrae). His work with synthetic Jade (and now they work with synthetic crystal and brass). Their family is known for chemistry, and they are allowed to use gaijin pepper for experimentation purposes. They have their own Courtier Dojo (which is treated as a Ronin School- as anyone is allowed to join, though non Rin members gain a obligation to Rin family for joining). 
• Paul's character is Brass Champion and is in charge of Brass Magistrates, who are allowed to study Gaijin magic for the betterment of the Empire. They have a Shujenja school. 
• The Unicorn have a strong trade agreement with the Gaijin in the Burning Sands thanks to Yodo and Taki, who have been both granted unicorn citizenship. They now have the strongest military in Rokugan, rivaling the Lion. 
• The Dragon were mostly unaffected by the Raksasha war. 
• The Brass Monkey was captured by Dragon Forces. Despite her important contribution, she was executed for the crime of killing the Emperor's Cousin. (Or was she?)
