Otomo Hana- Governess of the tax district of the Imperial Capital. A bored widow she likes to use her status to make her guests uncomfortable for her own amusement.
Ikoma Hirogi- A brash lion bushi who had a dispute with Yogo James at the Western Hub Sake Works.
Giovanni Brascesco- A Merenrae scientist working with Rin attempting to chemically create synthetic jade.
Hirumo Inejiro- A crab harrier who hunts tainted creatures and maho users using a gaijin pepper rifle.
Fujihiro Hisake- A vassal family actor in the Quiet City who has married his love Diadoji Hideko thanks to the intervention of the PCs.
Kakita Shunji- A small estate manager who had his marriage to Diadoji Hideko taken away by the clan champion due to the PCs.
Doji Fuio- Heir to the Doji family, son of the clan champion. His stepmother had faked a pregnancy and was passing off a peasant child as her own son. This was discovered by the PCs and her treachery was exposed.
Matsu Nasuko- Commander of Last Breath castle. No nonsense, quick to distrust scorpions and not interested in matters of court. Keeps a pet owl, because they eat scorpions.
Yophiel- An angel who fell from the heavans to remove taint from the world. She has the form of a beautiful geisha woman with feathery wings. One wing is hurt from an attack with corrupted jade. She has healed an Oni who protects her, and is guiding her to the Shadowlands.
Kitsuki Hatsu- An overweight Dragon Emerald Magistrate working for the imperials. He is investigating the Brass Monkey. He is a lover of Sumo, and feels that Shogi is the ultimate game of logic. He is a shogi master. He has become a minor ally of Dave's.
Ide Kafu- A unicorn trader who supplies the Yogo family with tainted crops with which they can produce mind-affecting drugs to enhance knowledge of the void.
Akegarasu- The leader of the Kenku mountain tribe.
Sarahassa- Queen of Ningyo.
Captain Yorimoto Isabella- A mantis ship captain, eaten by an insane Orochi.
Mahatma Suresh- A ivanti guru who told the party about Kali-Ma and Raksasha.
Mark's Family:
Yogo Junichi / Yogo Junichiro- Twin brother bushi.
Yogo Kimiko- a phoenix trained void shugenja, who must work for the phoenix clan to pay off her training.
Akodo Meiko- Mark's youngest sister
Yogo Saemon- Mark's brother, a guard at the scorpion capital.
Yogo Tomoyuki- Courtier, currently in charge of the Yogo family holdings in Beiden.
Yoko Sakuko- Mark's mother, youthened to the age of 14 by eesence of ningyo
